Job brief

The Project Lead – EESG is responsible for leading the planning, execution and successful delivery of sustainability and impact projects across private sector, public sector and development organisations. 

The role combines strategic advisory, technical expertise, project management and stakeholder engagement to support clients in integrating sustainability into governance, operations, investment decisions and long-term business strategy. You will be responsible to serve as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring that Greenalytics' methodologies, quality standards and international best practices are consistently applied across all engagements. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory 

  • Advise clients on integrating EESG into strategy, governance and operations. 
  • Develop practical sustainability solutions aligned with business objectives. 
  • Present strategic recommendations to senior management and Boards. 

Project Management

  • Lead the planning, execution and delivery of EESG projects. 
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks and resources. 
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants. 

Technical Delivery

  • Lead assignments including EESG diagnostics, ESG maturity assessments, gap analyses, benchmarking, roadmaps, governance reviews, KPI development, carbon footprint assessments, sustainability reporting and transformation programmes. 
  • Ensure compliance with Greenalytics methodologies and international ESG standards. 

Client & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships. 
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder consultations. 
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction throughout project delivery. 

Business Development 

  • Support proposal preparation and tender submissions. 
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client engagements. 
  • Contribute to the development of new Greenalytics services and strategic partnerships. 

Quality Assurance 

  • Review technical deliverables to ensure quality, consistency and accuracy. 
  • Mentor junior consultants and promote continuous knowledge sharing. 

Research & Innovation 

  • Monitor emerging ESG regulations, trends and best practices. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Greenalytics methodologies, digital tools and thought leadership. 

 Requirements and skills

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in ESG, sustainability consulting, environmental management or related fields. 
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects and client relationships. 
  • Experience working with private sector organisations, financial institutions, public sector entities or development partners. 
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and Boards is an advantage. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in ESG and sustainability advisory, including strategy development, governance, ESG reporting and disclosure, carbon and climate, risk assessment, project/programme management, data analysis, workshop facilitation, and technical report writing. 
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial capabilities, with proven ability in systems thinking, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, innovation, and delivering practical business solutions. 
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, demonstrating integrity, accountability, client focus, collaboration, communication, adaptability, emotional intelligence, results orientation, and attention to detail. 
  • Working knowledge of internationally recognised sustainability frameworks and standards, including ISSB (IFRS S1 & S2), GRI Standards, ESRS/CSRD, EU Taxonomy, TNFD, TCFD, GHG Protocol, ISO 14001 & ISO 14064, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Global Compact, OECD Guidelines, and IFC Performance Standards (desirable).
